Welcome to the lantern hall. Whimkins choose witches — not the other way around. Soft light, quiet stones, and friends who find their way home when a bond ends or begins. Who and where only — never what happens next.
How cards wake for a household
- In the printed book — preview and card codes live in the front and back matter. Codes unlock slots for your family collection (a grown-up holds the household account).
- Once per household — the same book can welcome many families, but each account redeems a code once.
- Trade with the Sanctuary only — swap a duplicate for one you are missing. No child-to-child chat, friend lists, or peer-to-peer trade online. Playground trades stay offline; the site only tracks what your household owns.

Friends by book
Each shelf lists only creatures the stories name. When you are signed in, a glow means your household has unlocked the card; a quiet slot is still waiting for a code.
- Offer only a card your household already owns twice (a true duplicate).
- The Sanctuary returns one missing slot from the fair pool for that household.
- Parents can see a trade log; children never message each other on this site.
- No under-13 self-registration — a grown-up is always the account holder.
